Pink Slips

I am so stressed out! They handed out more pink slips at my office but the b*st*rds still refuse to give me one. I wish I could be thankful I have a decent paying job but I just can't. I dread going in there every single day. I've been actively searching for a new job, meeting headhunters, going on interviews, sending out resumes but there is nothing out there. I thought I had a decent job prospect on the line but after wasting my time interviewing I found out I'd have to take a huge cut in pay and go back down to 5 vacation days. No matter how miserable I am now I just can't take that kind of cut. I realize with the economy the way it is and thousands of unemployed people willing to work for cheap, I'm not going to be able to get out anytime soon so I need to suck it up and deal with it. Is it Friday yet?

  1. Oh, sweetie, I can so sympathize with you! I'm sure you feel trapped there, and that's no way to live life. Some people would say to just walk away, but I completely understand not being able to leave the money (and vacation time) on the table. I've lived that for about the last five years.

Hang in there! An opportunity will knock when you least expect it, so keep those eyes open!

  2. I know exactly how you feel! I hate my job but am also terrified about having to go out and find another one, especially with this economy. most places are firing, not hiring so I just have to stick it out too and watch others go and hope its not me. so I know how you feel and it sucks, but just hang in there and do whatever you can to just get through the day.

  4. I can relate. My daughter went into the health care field because everyone thought that would be the one line of work that would never lack openings. Wrong!!! She's been unemployed and every time it looks like she's got a shot at a new job, it backfires somehow. So now she's going back to college to get a higher degree.
Hang in there, be positive and good will come from all of this.
