I can't believe the holidays are almost hear and another year is passing by with barely any movement on the scale. Well, there has been movement - up a little one day, down a little the next - but basically it hasn't changed much over the past year.
I'm starting to wonder why I am not making the commitment necessary to lose it (again) and keep it off (finally). What am I waiting for? When will it click and stick?

I think its best to focus on what you can do in the coming months and year - rather than what you didnt accomplish this year that you wanted to. I used to focus so much on my failures that I would sabotage myself or would doubt myself so much Id never get far. I try to just think ahead and focus on what I can do now. so just take it a day at a time and soon those days will turn into weeks, months, years.
ReplyDeleteI'm just not thinking about it. I'm still pretty much 100% South Beach but I don't worry about it. If I don't stay on it, I feel like death will come from heartburn so yay for getting older. Meh.
ReplyDeleteJust look forward and yanno, you will totally do it when you are ready!
Heather: Thanks for the encouragement. Take your own advice and keep looking forward. You are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHilly: I'm ready, I'm ready, I've been ready for the past 25+ years and still struggle on the roller coaster scale. I had lots of success with a South Beach type diet the last time I lost a substantial amount so I'm going to try to get back to that and stick with it 'til it sticks.
Thanks for always making me smile. :)
Sometimes not getting anywhere on the scale is a sacrifice we make in order to keep up with our emotional and life demands. We often let the things that we REALLY want take the back seat because we're so busy trying to stay afloat. I would offer a congratuations on not giving in and letting the numbers on the scale go up. You know what you want, maybe this coming year is the year you'll be ready to take it.
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no idea where this year went. So many things I wanted to accomplish this year but still haven't--guess we still have about 5-6 weeks to put a little dent in it, eh?
