I'm just like Oprah ...

It's true. Who knew? Except for the wealth and fame, I'm just like Oprah.

In case you haven't already noticed, Oprah has gained back the weight she lost (again). In a way, I sort of feel sorry for women in the public eye that have a problem with their weight. At least I don't have to see my fat *ss on the cover of a magazine with the horrible "look who's fat again" headlines.

Apparently there will be an article in next month's O Magazine where Oprah writes "I'm embarrassed, I can't believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I'm still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, `How did I let this happen again?'" I've been thinking the exact same thing. How did I let this happen AGAIN?

It just goes to prove that it doesn't matter if you have tons of money, gourmet chefs cooking healthy foods and the best personal trainers money can buy, it is still a constant struggle. Like Oprah, I need to use the tools I know work and get healthy. I don't want to lose weight to look good (although that is definitely a bonus), I just want to feel good and be healthy and happy in my own skin.

  1. very true! and Im glad she is public about this, because this is the reality that most people face. sure not everyone gains their weight back, but its hard and its something that people have to face every day. its nothing to be embarrassed about though as she says, because its honest and true and I thikn a lot of people can relate to her struggle.

  2. I think there are a LOT of us 'just like Oprah' out here in the real world. Especially out here! We don't have the money or time to work out 6 hours a day and have meals made for us. We have to take care of the little ones around us (if we have them) and work to pay the bills. I JUST lost 59lbs this year and am scared to death that I will go right back where I came from.

  3. Heather: You are absolutely right - it is honest and all we can do is keep trying.

Rambler: Congrats on the loss. I would love any advice on how you manage to keep it off. Don't let it find you ... ;)

  5. I hope these comments are not about hiding ones self among the celebs or there's security in numbers. IT IS POSSIBLE TO KEEP IT OFF. Your are not a happy person in a healthy body if you are over weight! The natural body processes that determine fat and lean mass in the obese persons body are broken, but CAN be repaired. According to Dr. Ron Rosedale new discoveries about leptin Resistance(Brain and Body communication) have surfaced recently. And are not well none or understood by the average public. Marilyn and I have information on our site about Max WLX(weight lose execelerator). Please feel free to check it out.
