Facial Expressions

I never realized how many facial expressions I use when talking until I smashed my face. It hurts a bit every time I raise my eyebrows and I can't seem to stop myself from doing it. Maybe this is a good excuse to look into botox. As much as I would love to get rid of the wrinkles I don't think I'd want to permanently give up my expressions.
Would you or have you had or considered botox?

  1. Heck no!!! I don't like having needles sticking in my arm, much less in my FACE!!! Gah!!

Hope your eye is feeling a little bit better today!! :)

  2. I've considered Botox because, like you, I raise my eyebrows a lot. I also inherited my father's tendency to develop deep lines on my forehead, and these have been in evidence to some extent since my late 20s.

Ultimately I decided not to do the Botox injections. My root objection to anything like this is that losing 50+ lbs would do more to improve my looks than any cosmetic procedure. So until I lose that weight, I refuse to do anything invasive, even minimally invasive like injections.

Plus, I have to say, as a former nurse and current medical malpractice attorney, I tend to always think about the "worst case scenario," which will scare you off just about any medical procedure.

  3. No not yet. Maybe in 40 years time. But I would like to try and age gracefully first.
    Never say never, though.

  4. Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes I have thought about it, a lot. My bf said I 'better not' do it, but I might do it in secret. Maybe for my bday next year.

Welcome to the OC though - all my friends (in our 30s) are doing it.

  7. Hi. I will consider it when I feel I'm getting a bit wrinkly. Right now my facial fat is making me look younger than my years!

I would be careful to only have it done lightly though - I wouldn't want to be "frozen".

Your eye... hope it's all better, or at least looking a bit better!

BOTOX... HELL NO! That would involve a NEEDLE eh? I don't like needles... really don't like needles! BIGGEST SOOK about needles!

Unless you love needles, and the expense, I say get wrinkles! They show CHARACTER... well that's my story....

  12. I saw a study they did that some of the botuline toxin in the botox actually makes it's way to your brain...
    so, um..no.
Besides. Every time I see Nicole Kidman, I remember how much I like it when my forehead moves.
