5 Pound Fluke

I knew the scale was just messing with me last Friday. I was so excited to see that I lost almost 5 pounds but I just knew it wasn't a real loss and I was right. I got it all back on Monday. I guess my scale was just a little late with its April Fools joke.

My back is feeling better so I went to the gym today for the first time in over a week. I limited my time on the elliptical to 20 minutes, made sure to stretch before and after and then did the weight circuit. I was a bit tender but not in pain.

Time to get those next 5 pounds off for real. Don't pay so much attention to the scale. It doesn't know what the hell it's saying half the time.

  2. I hate when that happens - the quasi-loss. Can be disheartening, but it sounds like you're taking it in stride.

Glad your back is feeling better.

  3. as i once read, "scales are for fish!". your weight can fluctuate for so many reasons - salt, water, hormones... just go by how your clothes fit and how you feel.
it's great that your back is feeling better and you were able to hit the gym.

  5. For some reason when someone else's scale acts up I kinda feel like my own scale had something to do with it. They are just a stupid gang but they can't really hurt you. Show no fear! You'll beat it soon!

  6. The scale is a big liar sometimes, both with what we want to see and what we don't!

    Glad you are feeling better.

  7. Oh, bloody scale! I would have broke it!

But you have a great attitude about the "joke" so awesome job to you!

And I'm with you about the next 5 lbs. We can do it, girl! Just keep pushing yourself like you have at the gym (but be careful with that back) and you'll get there!

  8. Hi MB - don't sweat the 5 pound fluke. It could be water or any number of things. Just keep doing what you're doing and it'll come back off. You are doing so good with the exercising. How do you stay motivated to go to the gym? I need some motivation to get back on my recumbent bike and give the free weights I have a try. Keep up the great work MB!
