Get STARTed NOW

It's a new year and everyone is working on their resolutions to get fit and lose weight. I hardly make resolutions but have been working towards this goal for decades and feel like I'm finally making some progress.

I was surprised and honored to be mentioned in today's podcast of Two Fit Chicks and a Microphone. I've been a big fan of the Amazing Dietgirl, Shauna Reid and the internet fitness guru MizFit, Carla Birnberg for a long time. They have been guiding me, encouraging me and inspiring me for years. You should check out the podcast if you haven't heard it already. These woman know what they're talking about (and I love listening to Shauna's accent).

In Two Fit Chicks and a Microphone's "Episode 07 - Getting STARTed in 2010" podcast Shauna and Carla interviewed a few of my weight loss heroes such as Jen of Prior Fat Girl, Diane of Fit to the Finish, Jennette of PastaQueen, Mary of A Merry Life, Roni of Roni's Weigh, and Lynn of Lynn's Weigh and introduced me to a few new to me bloggers - Kepa of Fat Lazy Guy's Log, and Caro of On The Weight Watch. I'm looking forward to checking them out.

I'm ready to take all their good advice and make this final journey back down the scale for the last time. I've been on this road a very long time, I've gone through season after season, year after year, I've taken detours and gotten lost but I feel I'm finally able to put in the time and effort it takes to get healthy and fit and stay that way. I'm going to get it right this time. I am losing it AGAIN and will learn how to keep it off this time *fingers crossed* *knock wood* *spin around three times* *click your ruby slippers together* *PLEASE G-D*

I'm ready to get STARTed. Are you? How bad do you really want it? Don't wait another minute. Get STARTed NOW!

Just swinging by and chiming in to say thanks for letting us shout you out :)
2 Fit Chicks really is all about the blog world...not the 2 of us.

  7. Thanks for the little pep talk. I am getting started. Though the going is a bit slower than I would like, I don't mind. I'd rather start slow and end strong than burn out at the very beginning.

  8. Hey MB - you might remember me from a while back, maybe not. We used to follow each other pretty regularly I think. In any case, I'm back and with a vengence. Like you, I am committed to making this year 'the' year that I do this - for good. So I would love to 'buddy up' again if you're interested in supporting each other. I sure need all the support I can get. Oh and congrats on dumping the old job. You can really tell you're happier for doing it. :)

  9. Jules - I think I've come to terms that it will always be a battle but hopefully it will get easier and easier once the healthy habits become just the way of life and not something to jump in and out of.

LAF: I keep repeating "Right Now" in my head these days. There is no better time. We're certainly not getting any younger, right?

POD: You inspire me to count my blessings every day. I'm still giddy about being mentioned in that podcast.

Lori: I'm so happy I've found some mojo. Eventually I'll have to figure out the time management part when I get back to work so I'm taking advantage now and hope it will be such an ingrained habit I'll keep doing it.

Roni: I love all of Two Fit Chicks' podcasts.

Shauna: Thanks for the support and encouragement. You guys ROCK!

MizFit: HAHAHAHA... you do have a very loverly PA accent but it is so similar to my own Bostonian/New England accent I hear all the time. Thank you for the shout out. You and Shauna, my favorite Fit Chicks, are doing great things for the blog world.

All Women Stalker: Slow and steady is the key, I think.

Melanie: Glad to see you back. I'd love to "buddy up" again so we can both make 2010 the year we FINALLY do it. I tried leaving a comment on your blog but wasn't able to. Hope you can get that straightened out so we can encourage each other on this journey.

  10. Any time is the right time! Doing something is better than doing nothing. You don't have to do big things from the start, that usually doesn't work anyways. I know, I've been there.
Like you, I'm getting into the swing of things again. Great feeling, isn't it?
I just keep thinking to myself, whenever I have a weak moment: if not now, then when?
It doesn't always help, but most of the times it does. I'm done being unhealthy. So I have to do something about it.

  12. Me: I'm not making drastic changes this time and I think that is the trick. Not having any stress really helps though. Hope I'll be able to deal with that when I go back to work.

Tammy: Thank you so much. You are very sweet but as you will see from my Beautiful Blogger post, I think you may have lost your mind ;). THANK YOU!!!
