It's Party Time!

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king ...
Eh, screw looking for a king, who needs a king when you're dancing in ONEDERLAND?

Happy Friday everyone! It's finally time to dust off those dancing shoes and get this Onederland party started!

Thank you all for coming. I'd like to welcome you to the Onederland Ballroom! We're here to celebrate my big milestone of finally breaking through into the 100s. I still have a long way to go to reach my weight loss goal but I'm almost at the 1/2 way point and soon will be merely overweight instead of obese. I'm not sure if I'll ever reach "normal" as far as those BMI charts go but I've always thought normal is overrated anyway.

As you know, I hit the onederland milestone on August 27th and have been dancing around it for a month now. My weight tends to bounce up and down a few pounds each week so I wanted to be firmly planted in onederland soil before I went ahead with the big onederland celebration. I did creep up over the line last Monday but weighed in at 193.6 today so I'm pretty confident any weight fluctuations will not cross the dreaded 200 line again.

So get out on the dance floor and get your groove on, boogie down, and rock it out. Help yourself to a cocktail and some of the delicious calorie-free food and then get out on the dance floor and do the happy onederland dance with me.

I'm not sure I would have been able to do it without all the support I've received from YOU. You have no idea how much I value each and every comment I get. I'd like to show my appreciation by giving away some door prizes:
  • Sportline pedometer to track those 10,000 steps a day we should all be getting
  • The Complete Beck Diet for Life book
  • A silver Green Bottle to remind you to drink your water
  • The Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga DVD
  • and a few other special surprise prizes
You don't need to link, tweet or FB anything, no hoops to jump through, just leave a comment and let me know your favorite dance song. If you want to add your best healthy living advice, you'll get a bonus entry. Your odds are winning are pretty good since I usually only have a handful of comments so be sure to let me know if you have a prize preference. I know lots of people take the weekend off from blogging so I'm going to keep the party going until next Friday when I'll pick the winners.

Since I'm out of work and funds are limited I can't be shelling out big bucks for postage so with apologies to my non-USA readers, prizes will only be shipped to addresses in the continental United States.

Thanks for coming to my Onederland Party! I'm not sure I would have made it here without all your support. I love each and every one of you for encouraging me and picking me up when I was down. It was a long and winding road but I finally made it out of the 200s and I'm so happy to be here in Onederland.

Now get out on the dance floor and DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!

You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
See that girl
Watch that scene
Diggin' the dancing queen

Feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
See that girl
Watch that scene
Diggin' the dancing queens!

  1. Congratulations on making it to ONEDERLAND!!! Hmmm - dance music? I love Zumba, so can I be generic and just say latin dance? I've also just started some dance games for the wii - but nothing's stuck, yet. Other than that, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison gets me dancing around the kitchen every time.

Here we go...are ya' ready now?....stayin' alive...stayin' alive...ooo ooo ooo ooo stayin' aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive...

That is my fave song EVER and I don't think I'm even really old enough for that to be my favorite...I think I started groovin' to it when I was like 4 and riding around in the car with my mom and 2 sisters, lol....Bee Gees baby!!

Best health advice....I'd say even when you're having a hard time with the food and can't seem to keep your wagon on the trail....at the very least, drink lots of water every day...and I would even venture to say ONLY water...it's never a good idea to drink your calories...save it for MORE food. :)

I'd hate to be so brash as to tell you exactly which gift I'd prefer...it's just so kind for you to even offer gifts to us humble followers at your own Onederland party....oh who are we kidding?? I want the book!!! lmao

Have a fabulous weekend girl...proud of ya'! :)

  4. ...do a little dance
    make a little love
    GET DOWN TONIGHT!

It plays in my head all the time.

BIG CONGRATS! I do love a party, and this one is fine! I never win the prize, so no preferences there.

You have come so far, and you certainly deserve to catch your breath for a month, maintain a little, and plan the party. Just keep on the path and we may get to have another party! Oh, and thanks for inviting me.

I'm not a big dancer myself and my favourite all time song to dance (and sadly, sing along to) is 'I will survive!' by Gloria Gaynor. I know, I'm really old... ;-)

  10. Alright lady - you're groovin'!! I've already told you how proud I am of you for makin' it to onederland, so now I'll say something better. THANK YOU!!

This is why. . . you're imspired me to kick myself in the butt and get back on plan so that I can make it back to that wonderful ONEDERLAND again myself. I've been stuck in such a rut and it's time to dig myself out.

You are one of the only ones who comments on my blog consistently and I need to thank you. I know what you mean about how nice it is to hear what people have to say.

We've got to be here for each other, girl!! Way to go!!

    Keep on dancin'!

  21. I'm outside of the US so you can count me out for the prizes but I still wanted to stop by to give you a massive virtual hug in recognition of all you have achieved so far! My healthy tip is one you have adopted so so well! Slow and steady wins the race!

As for my favourite dance song!! Now that's a tricky one. I love so much tacky dance music.. well tacky music in general. :) Ok how about Glora Gaynor's "I will survive"!! Seems apt!

  22. CONGRATS!! {{{BIG HUG}}}. I'm so excited and proud of you, all of your hard work is paying off. You are doing this!!! I'd love to just get into the 200's :( My favorite dance music is DISCO!!! But if you asked me my favorite song, right now I'd have to say the 'Cupid Shuffle'. Keep up the GREAT work!!

  23. Yay you! Isn't making it past those "odometer weights" AWESOME?

  24. Wow, MB, CONGRATULATIONS!! Coming into Onederland absolutely ROCKS!

Us Hotties are dreaming big, and we are going to be our own HEROES by the end of the year. I'm so inspired by your progress, and I've just found you.

As for dance music, there's nothing that gets me going as much as 'AM to PM' - though I'm South African based, so not eligible for the draw.

Just wanted to stop by and shout BOOYAH, you rock, girl!

  25. Congratulations to you!! I'm so happy for you!

  29. YOU WON!!!! If I had a billion dollars I would love to say "you get a car, and you get a car, and you get a car" just like Oprah but, unfortunately, I haven't hit the lottery YET so you just get a little door prize.

You guys are the BEST! I want to apologize to anyone who lives outside of the states who is not eligible to win but this unemployed girl can't afford the heafty price of postage to send you anything but my gratitude. So, to all my dancin' partners, send me your address at "mb photography vt [at] gmail [dot] com (you know, without the spaces and with a "@" and a ".") and I will send you a onederland party door prize.

WOW! My feet are killing me from all that dancin'. Thank you all for coming to my Onederland party. I had a blast.
